01 — La Terra
The ingredient comes first
Whatever the boats bring in that morning — line fish, clams, prawns and calamari — and whatever the season is doing best on land. Chosen the same day it is cooked. Nothing here is hidden behind a sauce.
Observatory · Cape Town
Honest ingredients, time-honoured technique and the unmistakable character of Italy — served at a table you will not want to leave.
La nostra storia
Avero is a contemporary Italian restaurant rooted in the warmth, generosity and authenticity of Italian dining. Everything begins with the ingredient — chosen well, treated simply, and given the time it deserves.
Lasagne is layered with pasta rolled by hand, then baked until the edges catch. Carbonara is made traditionally, without exception — egg yolk, parmesan and guanciale, no cream, ever. What arrives at your table is deliberately familiar and quietly refined.
The table as home, the kitchen as heart, where every gathering becomes a memory, time stands still, and the flavours remain. — Benvenuti a Avero
Dalla terra alla tavola

02 — Il Fuoco
Bolognese the old-school way — cooked long and slow, exactly the way Nonna makes it. Dough left to ferment for forty-eight hours before it ever sees the oven. Osso buco the Avero way, cooked slowly and with love.
03 — La Tavola
Plates land in the middle. Hands reach across. The Fiorentina arrives — 1.2kg of T-bone, dry aged thirty-one days — and you are glad you brought someone to share it with. The evening stretches out because nobody is being moved along.
Il forno A true Napoletana pizza — forty-eight hours of slow fermentation, a crust that puffs and blisters in the heat, soft and tender in the middle, faintly smoky from the oven floor.
Uno sguardo dentro
A few plates, the bar and the room. The full card is below — and the fish of the day is whatever came in that morning.
Traditional, without exception. Egg yolk, parmesan and guanciale. No cream, ever.

Pull up a stool for an aperitivo before the table is ready.
Cold, properly poured, and exactly what a plate of pasta asks for.
Espresso the way it should be — short, dark and taken standing up if you like.
